Kenaston

Kenaston is a rural village situated on highway 11 at the junction of Highway 15. Kenaston was first known as Bonnington by early settlers; in 1905 the name was changed to Kenaston in honor of the vice president of the Saskatchewan valley land company. The population is around 300 and is the second largest Croatian settlement in Canada.
Kenaston has one of the most beautiful natural sceneries in all of Saskatchewan within the rolling Allan Hills. The town leads a rural way of life is well known for its close-knit community spirit that does justice to their motto, ‘Heritage, Spirit, vision’. Community wellness clinic, social center, and theatre are maintained by volunteers.
The village as a whole comprises of a well-balanced infrastructure that caters to every need of the community. An excellent group of spirited teachers work at the Kenaston School, with an enrolment of almost half their population, offer education up to senior matriculation. The business community boasts cafés, convenience stores, beverage room and grill, auto repair bed and breakfasts and much more. It also has three active churches in addition to a senior citizen center, public library and a fire hall.
Kenaston is an ideal place to retire; the locals are welcoming, and there are many opportunities to stay active and contribute in this village.
