Watrous

Watrous is medium sized town, about 100km east of Saskatoon. With a population of 1,808, the town is an administrative center for various government departments. The town economy is based on agriculture and tourism because of the famous Manitou Beach. The potash mines that are located nearby are one of the main employers for local residents.
The town was established in 1906 when the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway established a divisional point at the town site. Watrous was incorporated as a village in 1908 and as a town in 1909.
