More Information
The Lakeland of Northern Saskatchewan is a highly sought-after destination for Saskatchewan residents and out-of-province tourists alike. If the forest is calling your name, allow me to help you answer.
Growing up, my family and I were no strangers to life at the lake. Spending our days in a cozy 700-square-foot cabin built by my grandmother in the mid-70s, we traded the hustle and bustle of everyday life for the easy living found at Emma Lake every summer. This cabin has been in
our family for almost 50 years, and in 2015, I was lucky enough to purchase it and keep its legacy alive.
Every spare chance I get, I head back up to my happy place to enjoy the beauty of nature and the quiet of the forest. For anyone looking for an escape, there’s no place I’d rather recommend than the Emma and Christopher Lake area.
Emma Lake
The community of Emma Lake draws you in with a particular type of charm that only lakeside Saskatchewan communities have. Communities filled with friendly people, quiet and immersive nature, and neighbours with the best fireworks on the long weekends.
Located at the halfway point between Prince Albert and Waskesiu, Emma Lake is home to about 300 people year-round, with a sizeable boom in the summer months to upwards of 10,000. Although there is no physical townsite, the amenities at Emma Lake include a grocery store, a restaurant and bar, a convenience store, an 18-hole golf course, and mini-golf. If you're looking for year-round living, the close by village of Christopher Lake gives residents easy access to many additional services.
Christopher Lake
Tucked away in the boreal forest, Christopher Lake has all the amenities of a small village, including various shops, restaurants, a Credit Union, and a K-12 school. Located just under half an hour north of Prince Albert, you'll still have plenty of access to the many conveniences of the city within driving distance.
The village of Christopher Lake hosts a number of community events in the summer, highly anticipated by its and Emma Lake's residents alike, namely the Canada Day parade, Christopher Lake Western Days, and a Farmer's Market every weekend.
About two kilometres northwest of the village, you'll find a lake of the same name. Christopher Lake is located just under ten minutes away from Emma Lake by a road running between them. The quiet lakeside communities have a small-town Saskatchewan feel and are home to several summer camps and beaches.
Properties
Emma Lake has a variety of property opportunities, including everything from trailers on leased lots to multimillion-dollar lakefront cabins. Lots occasionally open up creating opportunities for newcomers to build.
Just on the outskirts of the community, the acreage development of Southshore Estates introduces the option for year-round living with the benefits of a larger, private property in close proximity to the lake.
Like Emma Lake, Christopher Lake has a variety of property options for various price ranges and needs. With most of its properties located around the lake's perimeter, many of the buying options available at Christopher Lake are cottages and beachfront cabins.
Why Kent
When buying property at the lake, working with someone who knows the area and enjoys their time there will help you better understand what to expect from season to season as opposed to someone who isn’t familiar with the community.
As a cabin owner with a lifetime of experience at Emma Lake, I am well-versed in the lifestyle and property values one can expect from living in the area. My goal will always be to help you find that perfect summer or year-round getaway that's the perfect spot for you and your family.
