Buena Vista School

Nestled in the highly popular Saskatoon neighbourhood of the same name, Buena Vista School is a public elementary school rich in education, history and architecture—earning it the nickname “Saskatoon’s Castle on the Hill”. It serves the neighbourhoods of Buena Vista, Exhibition, and Nutana, and offers education from pre-kindergarten to grade 8. This includes Saskatoon’s first outdoor-based learning program, offering kids up to grade 1 the opportunity to learn in a nature-based and holistic environment that has been shown to improve not just environmental stewardship, but academic achievement, as well.

Buena Vista School takes pride in its strategic commitment to academic excellence and enriching the lives of its students with extracurricular activities. Particular favourites of the school are its sports programs, including track, volleyball, and basketball. It also offers a before and after school program led by the Boys and Girls Club and a strong, supportive parent council.
