Meadow Lake

First settled as a trading post known as “Lac des Prairies” in 1799, Meadow Lake is a Saskatchewan city found in the northwestern boreal forests. A beautiful and scenic place that around 5,322 people are proud to call home, it lies on the shore of its namesake, Meadow Lake, and offers an affordable average home price of just over $245,800.
A hub for local business, the city of Meadow Lake’s economy is largely dominated by the forestry, trucking, and agriculture industries. It is also a particularly popular tourist destination for fishing, with excellent angling opportunities drawing in flocks of visitors annually to try their luck at reeling in a big catch. Plus, it is also ideally-located nearby to Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Saskatchewan’s largest provincial park, found about 40 KM to the north. It boasts over 25 lakes, 12 campgrounds, and the only year-round backpacking trail in the provincial park system, stretching 135 KM from end-to-end.

It also offers the Transition Place Education Centre and North West Regional College, offering both college and university-level courses, including both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education.
